Professional Development for Teachers

A range of courses to suit all levels of staff are available, with structured learning opportunities for classroom implementation.

The overarching learning intention of my training sessions with teachers is to make their job more rewarding and enjoyable! To explore ways to simply and effectively re-tune bodies and reset brains for optimal learning, so time and energy is not lost with distractions and emotional outbursts. And most importantly, for teachers to take care of themselves: manage stress, boost energy levels and invest in daily doses of mindful self-care.

Key Outcomes:

  • Developing opportunities for wellbeing and personal growth: cultivating Intention, Attention and Attitude (Shapiro 2008)

  • Promote staff self-care and wellbeing

  • Supporting teachers to create effective, productive and harmonious learning environments

  • Effective, creative ways to address all learning styles

  • Integrating Mindfulness into the curriculum and school life to enhance happiness and a ‘heartful’ approach to learning

Classroom Applications of Mindfulness practices:

    • ‘Book End’ the day:  greeting and farewells

    • Prepare bodies and minds for learning

    • Portals of transition:  practices to segue into new activities and dovetail with curriculum

    • Opportunities to refocus and refresh attention

    • Creative ways to connect to the senses and embrace all learning styles
